| A botanical evaluation of some nature reserves in the province of Overijssel The method of botanical evaluation by MENNEMA (1973), based on the flora statistics of VAN DER MAAREL (1971) depends upon inventarisation of 1 kilometer squares. In the present study the floristic lists of seven nature reserves in the province of Overijssel were used and the results compared with those of Mennema. Furthermore this new objective method was used to attempt to compare the relative botanical importance of the reserves. The results fairly well agreed with those of Mennema using results from reserves of c. 40 ha, but this was not the case with the smallest reserve ,De Maat’ of 8 ha. | A new species of Callopora (Bryozoa, Cheilostomata Anasca), C. bathyalis n. sp., was discovered on Madreporaria from the bathyal zone of the Atlantic Ocean. Its main characteristic consists in an entire covering of the area by a calcified racketshaped plate joined to the proximal gymnocyst by a peduncle. This plate bears an avicularium and represents a highly modified avicularian chamber. This structure appears to be a striking adaptation to the deep habitat of this species. Its supposed function is to protect the frontal membrane from silt deposit. |

| Durant le mois de mai 1975, une mission m'a été confiée pour participer à la cinquante huitième campagne de recherche du navire océanographique nord-américain "Oregon II". Organisée par le Centre National des Pêches de Miami cette expédition comprenait, du 5 au 19 mai, un plan de chalutages expérimentaux sur le plateau continental guyano-brésilien entre 5° de latitude nord et l'équateur (Cayenne-Belem). Le but principal de la mission était l'analyse de la composition du stock des espèces commerciales de crevettes et celle de l'ichthyofaune associée.
